Aftercare Instructions
After 48 hours, peel bandage over itself going in the same direction of hair growth. Gently rinse your tattoo with warm water. Pat the tattoo dry with a clean cloth.
Cover the tattoo with a thin layer of tattoo balm or coconut oil. Do not use vaseline, polysporin, petroleum jelly, or scented lotions.
If you are going to a public place in the next week or so, make sure the tattoo is protected by a loose clean article of clothing. This is to help from cross contamination. Make sure your hands are clean every time you touch your new tattoo.
Do not swim, soak in the bath tub, hot tub, or lake for the next two or three weeks after getting your tattoo. Chemicals like chlorine and the bacteria found in most lakes will case the tattoo to fade and/ or cause infection. Soaking the tattoo will also cause the scab to come off faster, and along with it, some of the ink.
Do not tan for at least two- three weeks. After the tattoo is healed, you can lie in the sun or go tanning as long as you put a layer of SPF 25 over the tattoo. Sunlight will fade ink, especially bright colours or black.
Your tattoo may itch during the healing process. Do not scratch it. Scratching or picking will remove the scab and possibly the ink from your tattoo. With a clean hand lightly apply tattoo balm or coconut oil to relieve itching.
